The signs of
split personality may appear during the early stages of event
planning. The condition is characterised by the presence of two or
more different themes/personalities that overtake the mood of the
wedding and, not seldom, interfere with the bride's serenity.
The
symptoms are fairly easy to spot:
1.
Over-scrapbooking
Over-scrapbooking
might indicate a tendency to develop event multiple personality. Yes,
one or two mood boards could definitely improve your planning,
however, if you start splitting your ideas into hundreds of
disconnected collages the consistency of your theme might suffer from
it!
2. Pinterest
addiction
This is the
digital version of the scrapbooking symptom. You start with one board
and without even noticing you're pining during every coffee break,
managing 10 completely different boards and refreshing your searches
every 10 seconds. Too much inspiration can lead you to loose focus
and split your theme.
3. Memory
lapses
Memory
lapses are crucial indicators of a wedding going trough a personality
split. They prove that, although apparently the bride has committed
herself to a certain theme, unconsciously she craves for another, for
example: "Yes, I'd like pastel coloured roses to match with my
dark-gothic theme. I'm sorry, did I just say gothic? I meant
ethereal-romantic."
4.
Definition anxiety
Brides
dealing with multiple personality weddings tend to have a hard time
defining their theme and/or ideas. Their explanations are usually
long and sometimes even contradictory.
Stay tuned
for the second part! :)
