Barn wedding & finding a special gift

Not long after I decided to follow my dream of setting up a design business (or as my mum used to say: leaving behind me a successful career as design/marketing manager for a wedding venue) my childhood friend Katy called me with the big news: she was engaged to Craig!
I really wanted to make something special for their wedding, and to be honest I also wanted to take my mind off the fact that my incursion into the world of business was starting to look like a big mistake. So I rolled up my sleeves and began to sketch.
You wouldn't believe my surprise when the wedding design ideas started to pile up on my desk! There were too many to choose from. Deciding to get a second opinion, I posted them on facebook... bingo! By the end of that same week I had "likes", I had orders and I had found my true calling!
The only thing left to find was a perfect design for Katy and Craig but having such a great couple to work with makes things easy! Katy was in charge of the decorations and told me all about her garden-tea-party wedding dreams and the amazing venue they had hired - a barn!

"I just started collecting bits and pieces for decorations not really knowing what it would look like in the end", Katy said, "the night before, when we set everything up I was so nervous... but it ended up looking exactly how I wanted it!"
When a bride knows what she wants it all comes together with ease: the dresses, the decorations and the stationery. "My stationery was absolutely perfect! It fitted the theme and it also matched our personalities. Also the addition of the hooray flags, the table names and name place cards was the icing on the cake! It was an amazing day!"

We would like to say a huge thank you to Katy & Craig for letting us share their wedding experience and giving us free reign on the design of their stationery, ooh and asking me to be a bridesmaid!. We would also like to thank our good friend and super talented photographer Natalie, from Natalie J Weddings Photography, for letting us use the beautiful images of their wedding!

To finish we'll leave you with these exclusive tips from our bride Katy:
"My tips for brides-to-be are these: your wedding day passes quickly, so make sure you enjoy yourself, don't spend your day stressed or worrying! (I had an ice-cream van at my wedding. While we were having some photos done inside, the ice-cream lady said "it's so nice to have a happy bride, some of them are so grumpy!" I couldn't believe my ears! Yes, planning a wedding can be quite stressful but when the day comes all your plans come together and if little things don't work out, believe me, your guests won't even notice. So please just have fun. Because once it is all over you get to start your married life - which is what it's all about really.
Also be sure to plan a moment just for the two of you. The most romantic part of my wedding day was, surprisingly, during the church service. I felt like we were the only two people in there!"
