These last couple of weeks
have been pretty busy here at Something Kinda Cute. Together with
Sophie from Hubbard's Cupboard, we've moved to a brand new store and
created the cutest wedding emporium in Cardiff, featuring loads of
amazing suppliers! The grand opening was a roaring success and now we
are adjusting to the routines of the new space - which you definitely
have to visit by the way!
Juggling all the
preparations for the opening with our normal load of design work
involved a bit of planning, and the techniques we picked up will
certainly come in handy during your wedding preparations. So here are
a few planning tips:

Our cosy, new wedding
emporium!

1. Start early
Give yourself some time.
As complex as your to do list might be, your tasks won't seem half as
difficult if you plan ahead and get down to business as soon as
possible!
2. Learn how to delegate
It's easy to get trapped
into time-sucking particulars and lose track of the big picture.
Whenever you come across a task that could be easily carried out by
your partner, bridesmaid, or family member don't fear and get them
involved. After all, you're not alone in this!
3. Carry a notebook
Being involved in a
long-term project, such as planning a wedding, is like experiencing a
constant brainstorm. I bet that you get tons of new ideas every day,
but when you sit down to do a bit of actual planning it takes you a
long time to remember it all. That's why it comes in handy to keep a
notebook close by!
5. Focus on one problem at
a time
Imagine that you open your
email to be greeted with this news: the flower supplier doesn't have
those roses you were counting on; your cousin Betty is bringing her
boyfriend to the reception after all; the seamstress has to change
your fitting appointment and the flower girl got the measles!
If you try to deal with
all these problems at the same time your stress levels will
definitely rise, but if you tackle each one separately everything
will seem more doable.
Good planning for all you
guys, and see you at the new shop!
PS: Big thanks to all the lovely bloggers that attended our grand opening. Your support is truly heart-lifting!
